Direct tram-train line between Massy and Evry
Mobility has won a tramway signalling contract with Ile-de-France Mobilités and will be involved in the Massy-Evry express line 12 tram-train project. At 20.4 km in length and crossing 13 cities in the Essonne department, the tram-train line will enable passengers to travel from the Massy-Palaiseau transport hub to Evry on RER regional express line D in less than 40 minutes.
The express tram line 12 will serve 16 stations, of which 11 are new. Between Massy and Épinay-sur-Orge, it will run on the current railway lines in place of the RER C. Between Épinay-sur-Orge and Evry, the express tram-train will switch over to tram mode and will run on the new rails to be installed as part of this project.
Mobility will be responsible for tramway signalling from Épinay to Evry (10.1 km), deploying its transport infrastructure safety solution, Crossway, with a SIL4 safety level. The project comprises two manoeuvring zones, a branch connection to the national rail network, and a terminus.
Studies are currently getting under way and work is due to start in April 2021, with commissioning scheduled for early 2022.
