An underpass to revamp an urban space in the Moselle department
As part of work to convert the RN52 to an expressway, between the A4 and A30 motorways on the left bank of the Moselle river, Mobility is involved in the construction of the Marange-Silvange underpass, for which the DREAL Grand Est is the principal.
This 400-metre long structure is essentially a tunnel. It is intended to reduce disruption caused by traffic on the expressway (VR52).
The DIR Est (interdepartmental roads division for the eastern France area) is prime contractor and the Vinci-only consortium, comprising Mobility (contract holder) and EJL Lorraine (a Eurovia subsidiary), has been assigned equipment, secondary civil engineering and external works worth €9.9 million.
More specifically, Mobility is responsible for the centralised technical management system, electrical power supply, lighting, the video and automatic incident detection system, atmosphere control, and equipment for technical rooms.
The work will be carried out while the road remains in operation: the VR52 and the main local roads must remain open to traffic.
Once the underpass has been completed, scheduled for 2021, the urban space on its surface will be conducive to the creation of new links between two neighbourhoods that currently find themselves cut off as a result of the VR52.
