The Sud Europe Atlantique high-speed railway line is open: Paris-Bordeaux in two hours and four minutes!
On 2 July 2017, the Sud Europe Atlantique Tours-Bordeaux high-speed railway line, built and operated by VINCI, opened for business, thus marking the end of an extraordinary project.
The Sud Europe Atlantique high-speed line was Europe's largest infrastructure worksite and is of strategic importance in terms of the attractiveness and development of the region. In 2017, 18 million passengers are expected to make use of this rail link (i.e. 20% more than current numbers). The line is 340 km in length and comprises 450 civil engineering structures, including 24 viaducts and six cut-and-cover sections.
On a human level, this was a major adventure to which Mobility's staff are proud to have been able to contribute. Congratulations to all for this outstanding collective achievement. Bordeaux is now just two hours and four minutes from Paris!
