Safety Week 2019: role play and electric mobility
From 6 to 10 May, all Mobility staff took part in Safety Week. This annual event is part of the VINCI Energies Safety Excellence initiative.
The focus of this awareness-raising week was the Risk Perception Index. Staff were invited to react to risk scenarios through role play. These activities served to highlight best practices in each situation and the importance of managers' role in terms of safety. As emphasised by Dominique Bréchignac, Legal Director for Vinci Energies Power & Mobility, “Managers are at the heart of safety policy: they manage workloads, schedules, the sequencing of tasks that they have helped to define... They are an essential link, even if they themselves do not do everything.”
Other activities were organised within the business units. For example, within the Crossway BU, staff received first aid training.
Lastly, road-related risks were highlighted, with a topic entitled “Good habits on the road”. For instance, throughout the week, Mobility staff were able to try out electric scooters and bicycles. The aim of this awareness-raising initiative was to offer alternatives to car travel, and inform participants about the risks of these new electric modes of transport before an accident occurs.
