published onJuly 5, 2018

The Fréjus road tunnel, 13 km in length and located on the A43 motorway, provides a link between France and Italy. The first tube, which opened in 1980, requires renovation work, and a new tube is also to be fitted out.

The SFTRF, which operates the Fréjus road tunnel, has appointed Mobility, coordinator of the Mobility / EES Clemessy / Euroimpianti / Gemmo / Sielte consortium.

The consortium will be responsible for installing the cooling, lighting, power supply, fire network and signalling equipment in the new tube, as well as renewing certain equipment in the existing tube. The contract is worth approximately €75 million.
