The Puymorens tunnel, 20 years old, is an essential component of the international route between Toulouse and Barcelona. It is undergoing major renovation in order to improve passenger safety and ensure compliance with current standards.

Complete renovation of the smoke extraction ventilation system to bring the tunnel into compliance with the regulatory requirements.
Technical details
At both ends of the tunnel, five 70 kW boosters controlled by the CTM system will regulate the air flow. They will ensure air quality in the tunnel and confine smoke during extraction.
Modernisation of the ventilation system, together with the creation of 11 emergency exits and a more efficient video/automatic incident detection system, will bring the Puymorens tunnels up to the standard of structures designed today.
